MaitakeGold is a potent Maitake extract developed by Dr. Hiroaki Nanba, PhD., the inventor of Maitake nutraceuticals. Significantly, MaitakeGold is the only Maitake fraction that carries Dr. Nanba's personal endorsement.
MaitakeGold represents such a significant improvement in Maitake formulations that it was recently granted a U.S. Patent (U.S. Patent #5,854,404). Currently being studied in human clinical studies at Sloan-Kettering, MaitakeGold is extracted exclusively from certified organic mushrooms grown by the world's leading grower of Maitake mushrooms, the Yukiguni Maitake Company of Japan.
Clinical Research
The research on Maitake fractions has focused primarily on immuno-modulating properties. Although no controlled human clinical studies have yet to be completed (studies involving breast cancer and prostate cancer are in progress), the results of the in vitro research and uncontrolled human clinical research suggest significant immuno-modulating properties including activation of Natural Killer cells and cytotoxic T- cells.
Maitake (Grifola frondosa) belongs to the family Polyporaceae and is found in the forested areas of the Eastern U.S., Europe, and Asia. Found on the base of stumps or the roots of hardwoods, the fruit bodies appear as a dense cabbage shaped cluster of overlapping fan shaped caps, gray or brown in color.
